Distinguish between primary storage and secondary storage
Primary storage is the temporary, volatile storage of information when the computer is running that it is directly accessible by the CPU (central processing unit) while secondary storage is the type of storage that provides long term storage for software programs and data even when the computer is turned off, e.g. hard drives, SSDs, CDs, DVDs, memory cards, flash discs
