Explain how interference pattern is formed
When two waves from coherent source sources cross they superpose.
Where the path difference is odd multiple of a half a wavelength, cancellation occurs resulting in minimum intensity.
Where the path difference is equal to integral multiple of a full wavelength, reinforcement occurs resulting in maximum intensity.
This leads to formation of alternate permanent regions of maximum and minimum intensity called interference.
