Characteristics of igneous rocks
- They are crystalline in structure
- They do not contain
- Some are spongy in nature such as
- Some are dark coloured such as Basalt
- They do not occur in layers/strata
- Some are acidic, basic and intermediate in chemical composition. Etc.
Examples of igneous rocks include; Quam, Gabbro, Pumice, Basalt, Obsidian, Dolerite, diorite etc.
