Reasons for low level of development of fishing industry in Uganda
- Widespread water hyacith on Lake Victora hinders navigation and also suffocates fish
- Extensive destruction of swampsand vegetation around lakes like Victoria encourage silting of lakes which chokes fish

- Bad fishing habits such as poisoning the lakes deplets them of fish
