Show that an incident ray reflected successively from two mirrors inclined at an angle θ to each other is rotated through an angle 2θ.
Show that an incident ray reflected successively from two mirrors inclined at an angle θ to each other is rotated through an angle 2θ.
The diagram in the figure below shows a ray of light undergoing two successive reflection at points X and Y in two mirrors M1 and M2 inclined at an angle θ.
Thus, the deviation produced by two inclined mirrors is twice the angle between the mirrors when a ray under goes two successive reflections.
