What is meant by parking orbit? 

Parking orbit is an orbit in which a satellite appears to be stationary to the observer on the earth’s surface. The period of revolution of the satellite is equal to the period of revolution of the earth, i.e. T = 24hours

or

A parking orbit is the path in space followed by a satellite whose period of revolution is equal to the period of rotation of the earth.
