• Massacre of Uganda Martyrs: In 1886, Mwanga ordered the execution of about 30 Christian converts, who later became known as the Uganda Martyrs. This brutal act further intensified the conflict between the Christian factions and Mwanga.
• Persecution of Missionaries: Mwanga’s hostility towards missionaries and their converts led to widespread persecution. This created a climate of fear and tension among the religious communities in Buganda.
