• Lack of Farming Experience: Some settlers lacked basic agricultural knowledge and experience. This inexperience led to poor farming practices and crop failures.
• Inadequate Capital: Many settlers faced financial difficulties and lacked the capital needed to invest in farm inputs such as machinery and labor. This often led to bankruptcy and the inability to sustain farming operations.
• Poor Transport and Communication: The lack of proper transport and communication infrastructure made it difficult for settlers to access markets and transport their produce. This hindered the profitability of their farming activities.
