Describe the role of the hypothalamus in temperature regulation

Hypothalamus is sensitive to the temperature of blood flowing through it and responds by sending nerve impulses to the appropriate effector. If the temperature of blood is higher than normal, the thermos regulatory centre detects this and sets into motion the various processes that cool the body and the vice versa.
