Explain using the principle of superposition of wave the formation of beats
When two waves of nearly equal frequencies and similar amplitudes are sounded together, they superpose.
When they meet in phase constructive interference takes place and loud sound is heard.
When they meet completely out of phase, destructive interference takes place and soft sound is heard. A periodic rise and fall in intensity of sound is heard referred to as beats.
