Explain why melting points of group II elements are higher than those of group I elements
Group 2 elements have higher melting points than group 1 elements, explain.
Group II elements have higher melting points than group I elements due to stronger metallic bonds resulting from the two electrons contributed to form metallic bond whereas group I elements contribute one electron.
