How to distinguish zinc and aluminium ions

Distinguishing Zn²⁺ from Al³⁺

1. Zn²⁺ forms a white precipitate with potassium hexacyanoferrate II whereas Al³⁺ does not.
2. Al³⁺ gives of effervescence with sodium carbonate solution whereas zinc II do not.
