Parthenogenesis-meaning

This is the development of a new offspring from unfertilized egg. Haploid parthenogenesis, the egg is produced by meiosis egg in bees whereas in diploid parthenogenesis the egg is produced by mitosis, e.g. production of wingless aphids.   Parthenogenesis enables organisms to pass on them in absence of a male to sustain species in challenging condition.
