Reaction of fluorine with water and silicon dioxide

Fluorine substitutes oxygen from silicon dioxide and water.

SiO₂(s) + 2F₂(g)  → SiF₄(g) + O₂(g)

2H₂O(l) + 2F₂(g) → 4HF(aq) + O₂ (g)
