Archimedes’ Principle: when a body is wholly or partially immersed in a fluid, it experiences an up thrust force equal to the weight of the fluid displaced.

Net force (up thrust) = (h₂-h₁)ρgA

Volume of liquid displace = h₂-h₁)A

Weight of liquid displaced = h₂-h₁)ρgA

Hence up thrust = weight of liquid displaced
