What is meant by resonance in a circuit?

Resonance is when in the LCR circuit, the impedance and current is maximum. Resonance in the circuit is the result of oscillations in a circuit as stored energy is passed from the inductor to capacitor.

It occurs when inductive reactance (X_L) is equal capacitive reactance (X_C) and the impedance of the circuit is equal to resistance value as Z = R.
